I should have been a Virgo

We are on the last leg of the kitchen "remodel". It started as just a "get-a-new-range" ... which led to new counters ... which led to the new cabinet doors ... and then we had the water damage from the broken refrigerator (new floors). We should have been done last Thanksgiving (all I wanted was a new range to cook the turkey) and already we are heading into Spring. But today the painters are starting and when they are done I can put everything back in its place.

I do not believe in Astrological signs but for the record, I am a Capricorn. I think I should have been born a Virgo. I have a client that is always referring to decisions she makes as "the Virgo in me." And honestly, I didn't really know what that meant so I looked it up.  I am going to give you the shortened version, but there are a few of you that know me that will want to read it in its entirety (I love my sisters).

Virgo Traits: Methodical, meticulous, analytical and mentally astute, the Virgo natives are perfectionists to the core, or at least, they like to believe that they are. They are excellent managers, and may even ruthlessly ensure that the work is done, and well done, at that. Fastidious to the tee, they may be perceived as narrow in their outlook, critical and quarrelsome by many. Yet, unperturbed by the others’ view of them, they will go on doing what they feel if right, quietly and with a dogged determination.

I love having all my ducks in a row and even better, all my things neatly put away. Slightly obsessive. Slightly compulsive. So taking everything out of my cupboards (to paint) feels less like a chore and more an opportunity to fine-tune my organizational skills. Or feed the beast inside of me, perhaps?

Did you know that Mother Teresa was a Virgo?
Happy Monday everyone!

Cant wait to see your kitchen...we had a water leak and had to have all of our wood floors replaced....I was so sorry it didn't damage my cabinets...I would of loved to get new ones. I'm married to a man that believes if it isn't broken...you don't replace it!

I am a Virgo and the traits described are EXACTLY like me. I definitely think it helps in my interior design business where making decisions quickly and attention to detail is so important but it also has it's downside, as I sometimes get told I can be unemotional and blunt. You can't please everyone no matter what you do though, can you!?!

I am also really looking forward to seeing the completed kitchen.
