Getting ready for Christmas at my house always means moving things around a bit and bringing out a little more decor than I might be comfortable having around the rest of the year. I like things on the minimal side. So it always scares me a little to start the Christmas decorating because adding more sometimes feels like clutter to me. Remember my tree fiasco last year?
This year I started by bringing out an old lamp that I bought at my local vintage store last summer. I loved it and the price was right and I figured it would probably end up in a client's house but it hasn't yet so it seemed like the perfect starting point for adding a little more glam for Christmas. And I was right.
I grabbed a dwarf olive tree from my courtyard as a stand in for some Christmas greens ...
added my new reindeer from Homegoods, a silver tray that was in storage (well, not really storage but a closet where I keep accessories that I rotate) and some pretty roses from the grocery store to bring in some pink ...
sprinkled a few Christmas balls around ...
and with minimal effort it is starting to look a bit like Christmas round here.
Looks wonderful Sherry, love the reindeer!
Love love the lamp! I'm obsessed with navy blue...
I think I might be a little obsessed with that deer! All of your decorations are looking great!
I adore your vignette especially the deer head and the blue table lamp. They add so much visual interest and they are so beautiful at the same time.
I also enjoyed reading about your last year's tree fiasco. The tree looked beautiful when decorated but it looked truly perfect next to the chair without the ornaments!
Have a lovely week, Sherri!
Oh it looks great. Love those displayed ornaments...nice touch! xo
I love your deer, too! Simple and understated is how I like my holiday decor so this is right up my alley!
So far so good! It looks great, love the deer! The oraments add a little sparkle which I love. Looking forward to seeing it finished!
PS. I like my SM to each have a special object, the key is part of my small collection of keys. I tell the kids that it is the key to Santa's toy chest.
sooo pretty! Cant wait to see the gold love print too! thank you for letting me know! :)))
I love that deer! And, that lamp! Pretty! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!
