Our refuge

God is our refuge and strength,
         A very present help in trouble.
 Therefore we will not fear,
         Even though the earth be removed,
         And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
 Though its waters roar and be troubled,
         Though the mountains shake with its swelling.  Selah
(Selah: pause, and thinking calmly of that)

{Psalm 46}

My daughter who is a student at U.C. Berkeley was on her way home from school early Friday morning when she heard about the devastation in Japan. As the story unfolded and as she watched people's reaction to the news coverage of the events (including her own reactions), she was prompted to write down her feelings. She is on staff and a contributor to a campus magazine and it's blog and you can read her article by clicking here. I thought she said it beautifully.

Hello my dear friend,

I'll read it, but I also want to say how important it is to have faith as you have. These aren't easy times and we need to appreciate LIFE and each other much more than we do. We really need to understand the importance and beauty of life.

I'm praying...

Have a blessed week.

Excellent article. You must be proud. It is all very shocking.

Such a great post, fear not is the most stated command in the Bible, by far, and for me it is so hard to just let the Lord lead and have faith, it is my daily struggle.

Luciane - I agree ... well said!

Mary Ann - Yes, I am very proud of her. And yes ... so shocking and tragic. I can't think of much else right now.

Kathy - Thank you for your comments... I did not know that about 'fear not'.

Great words you posted, and your daughter's blog entry was completely engaging. You've raised a beautiful daughter, though I have no idea what she looks like. :)
