My green-eyed baby

Green-eyed baby. That's what my mom called my youngest daughter when she was little. That baby turned 21 a few days ago.

For her birthday, I wrote a little poem using the first letters of t-w-e-n-t-y o-n-e and I put it on little tags.

Answers.com - What does smitten mean

English Language question: What does smitten mean? When you are smitten with someone, that means that you love someone or they make you really happy.

She laughed at my word "smitten".  She thought that was pretty funny.

Birthdays are a big deal in our family. Especially a milestone birthday like 21!  But really we like to celebrate all of our holidays. And the one that is this newly turned 21 year-old's favorite just happens to be St. Patrick's Day.

St. Patrick's 2005

When she was little I always packed her lunch with all things green. And for dinner, we would have an entirely green dinner served on green plates with green napkins. Some years it was simply green eggs. And others it would be complete with green mashed potatoes, green biscuits and green milk (yes, green beer too). This year will be the same. Except that the girl who loves it the most will not be joining us ...

She is flying off to Dublin today for her Spring Break! How's that for a great St. Patrick's day?!!
Happy St. Patrick's Day my dear green-eyed Irish girl! Have a wonderful trip!

How nice! Love the birthday table setting, very creative with the wonderful centerpiece. Love the napkins on the plates. Your girls must have loved opening their lunch at school on St. Patrick's Day.

Sherri,
Cute idea for the birthday! What a lucky girl to get to go to Dublin! Ireland and Scotland are the 2 places I always wanted to go. I had hoped my Airforce Boy would get there when he was stationed in England, he came close but didn't make it. Hopefully she will come back with some great photos!
