Day two ...

I had a bit of trouble publishing yesterday's post ... hopefully this one will be more successful! Today we started out with an early morning walk to see the Buckingham Fountain and then drove out to south Chicago to see the house where my Father-in-law grew up ...

Afterwards we drove out to Evanston to see Northwestern University.

The buildings and grounds were beautiful and perfectly groomed.

The day was lovely ... Warm and humid but not unbearable and the wind was welcomed. The rain that was promised did not materialize and we were not disappointed.

This was a house across from the university and the tree was so pretty I had to take a photo! I still cannot get over all the gorgeous flowers everywhere in this city.

We had a lovely evening starting with drinks on the rooftop of our hotel, followed by one of those double decker bus tours (I know, so touristy but I just love those!). We got a little wet in the rain and then finished the evening with some fabulous Chicago deep dish pizza.

We sat outside in a covered patio and enjoyed the beautiful evening and a surprise downpour. Tomorrow we are heading to Madison, Wisconsin for the day.

Cheers!
